"The discussion, or even outrage, around the revision of #RoaldDahl’s texts, therefore, speaks not to the actual history and experience of the written word, but to broader anxieties and reckonings of a society with its past," tells @KeyaAnjaria, a lecturer at @SOAS.

@IdaHadjivayanis @SOAS @ezekiel_kamwaga @MissGeorgios That is so interesting! As we try to discover what the fabric of south-south relations are, maybe the Ottoman empire and its fictionalisation is a possible way… food for thought

When I was in Tanzania this July I noticed that people are absolutely hooked on the Ottoman Empire. I think this is a must listen because it puts so much into context. Listen to @KeyaAnjaria from @SOAS discussing end of the Ottoman empire. @ezekiel_kamwaga @MissGeorgios

@IdaHadjivayanis @SOAS @AdHabb @KhadirMeer It was so lovely to see Farouk again! A giant of literature and of SOAS!

Today Prof Farouk Topan who first set foot into SOAS in 1962 as a student and left it in 2006 as a retired academic told me that he had the best feeling about the future of @SOAS because this management is the most in touch with real issues on the ground! He loves the new SOAS.🌱
