I am always fascinated by these tall and rangy players, especially the ones who are also technically clean. I belong to the optimisation school of football. By that I mean every player should play in a position that allows him to utilise all of his skill sets, size & speed*

My main issue with Wirtz is he really doesn’t have any conviction with anything he does. Almost like he’s scared in the final third.

My player watch. Wirtz - 6/10 Frustrating at times. Dio - 6.5 slightly better than Wirtz plus the pre-assist. Nmecha - 9.5/10. Highest I can give. Oiula(CM) -8/10 Special mention. wasn't watching him but he still stood out. #worldcup #GERCIV

One thing Wirtz needs to do is watch compilations of the Thiago passes. The ones he played that almost seemed impossible but he made them look simple. Rather than the more obvious pass. Add that to his game and some physicality and he’ll be on a different level #LFC

I haven’t been MOVED by an individual performance as much as I have by this Nmecha one. This has been a best midfielder in the world type performance. What an unbelievable pass into Undav. The first touch and finish was crazy from Undav too. 2-1 Germany 🤯

Florian Wirtz is one of the few Germany players trying to force them back into this game - some really good moments 👌🏽 But Felix Nmecha is the standout star of this side. That’s someone who could be a £100m midfielder the way he’s playing right now… WOW. He is EVERYWHERE 🤩🇩🇪
