My top 10 favourite games I played this year. I haven’t beaten as many games as in previous years, but I still played and caught up on a bunch of pretty awesome ones. So, I’m pretty happy with my 2025.

I knew that Link had a little cameo in Super Mario RPG, but I had no idea that Samus was also chilling in the Mushroom Kingdom.

@curseofthesox Yeah, they REALLY nailed it with the Vaporwave/Retro Future style. I need more games like this in my life. 😄

@Khalimerus Haven’t played this yet, but I picked it up on sale a while back. What you said seems to be the general consensus by everyone who’s experienced it. Looks like it oozes style.

Finished Paradise Killer. It’s a really stylish open-world mystery game where you investigate a murder on an island filled with a bunch of strange characters. I really fell in love with the characters, the story, the setting, the overall vibe, and especially the soundtrack.

@PlayStalgiaX Tai Fu rules. I'm glad I still got my copy for it.

@PS4Ron Boogerman is dope! I'm not the biggest fan of all the toilet humour, but the game is overall pretty fun. 😄

#Boogerman A Pick & Flick Adventure from 1994, on the #Sega #Megadrive it was a another pickup this week. I just played a bit of it on my old Philips CM8833-II monitor, so here is some photos & gameplay. Its a fun sidescroller platformer, where you have burp/farts as ammunition😆

@ChainsawTiger I can only imagine how many annoying hurdles you had to overcome during development. Still, you guys did a great job! Thank you!

@Khalimerus One of the biggest things that I learned was the engine we used (GB Studio) is not pixel perfect. It was a lot of frustration in trying to get the hit boxes to work on each enemy. Congrats on beating the game!!

Finished Maiden of the Dark. A neat and sometimes quite tricky action-platformer. It is overall pretty fair though, so it never got too frustrating. Big fan of the artstyle in the story parts. The hitboxes are a little off, but other than that I enjoyed my time with this game.

@_runescimitar @ChainsawTiger It's a homebrew game for the old OG Game Boy, but yeah, you can play it pretty much on anything that plays Game Boy games (it has some slow downs on the Super Game Boy for some reason though.)

Dusted off the trusty ol’ Game Boy Color to play a little Game Boy homebrew game I backed on Kickstarter.

@DJJC58384703 @NoxMadness I played the Dreamcast version of Nightmare Creatures 2 and from what I remember quite enjoyed it.

@NoxMadness @Khalimerus I have actually never played the sequel. I remember it getting mixed reviews back in the days and never ended up getting it. Maybe should try to find a Dreamcast copy of it now.

This weeks retro game. A decent horror action game. Apparently it was made by the same people as last weeks retro game (Warriors). Quite an improvement I would say. Sure it has it's flaws, like the camera and the adrenaline meter. But I remember still quite enjoying it.
