@THENEWOmegan Yeah like, sonic isn't a perfect and 100% pure character but they are acting like he is a real person instead of his main characteristics

The way some folks talk about the characterization in the Metal Virus reminds me of this image. I’m not saying Sonic shouldn’t feel bad about shit but some of y’all talk about it like Sonic is a real person that actually went through that shit and not a character in a story.

@KiBAHda I kind of agree with some of this, but my biggest nitpick is that "you can never be like Sonic"
Because really, what makes him himself?
Sonic is not particularly special when it comes to his person: there is no Uncle Ben, no Krypton, no Ma and Pa Kent, no Crime Alley, and -

@sonicstarrr Ehhh... no The whole point of Sonic's character is to be a beacon for what the player/viewer should aspire to be; he must feel grounded, human for that to work If being Sonic feels line an impossible task, what is the point? YOU as a person should be able to be Sonic too

@BriefMarigold4 He's very good at containing it's feelings to do what is right and doesn't show much of his bad emotions because he doesn't think it should be about him or that he should hear his emotions, but he does it because of what he thinks it's right

He is supposed to be an inspiration
But it's impossible to be like him, you always will try your best to be like him, it will never happened which is great because you are always improving+

Imo, I think Sonic should be more of a character that’s cool and just so happens to come off as funny rather than a character that’s meant to be funny. Sonic can crack a few jokes here and there but he’s not really meant to be a character that intentionally makes you laugh.

@SneakEasyArt He's just a cool stoic and self contained character that doesn't questions his morals and actions and never changes himself, but still has emotions and personal tastes, why is that a problem?

This panel is the antithesis to Sonics character. At a standstill worrying about the moral dynamics of what he should do. Sonic is not as 3 dimensional as these writers want him to be. Keep on bending and his character will break

@SneakEasyArt I don't think frontiers is good but they handle him well, i think generations he's a bit bland but it doesn't destroy his characters, i'm not a person who dislike things because it's new

@SneakEasyArt He can be challenged, there's alot of games that he it happens, but he never loses his attitude and change his personality drastically
He can feel pain, angry or etc but way too much it becomes another character
