The shit that goes on in Priestella is more than enough of a reason for Subaru to use RbD. An entire city was in shambles, but it’s not his friends or precious Emilia so why would he care? It goes against his character as someone who cares about everyone.

@unobtrusive_iF @realrvmin We are talking about Subarus mindset he went into loops expecting to die he detached himself from everyone which dehumanized them and caused more deaths than necessary the only reason he was able to save everyone was because he started to see them as human beings

@KiToro404Error @realrvmin Subaru spent several loops gaining a full understanding of what challenges would arise, what levers needed to be pulled, who was best suited to handle each problem, and how to get them all working together. Only once he had painstakingly figured this out could he “rely on others”

@KiToro404Error Nah I’m talking about all of em. Sirius was subdued by two people. Capella was at least diverted by one. Betelgeuse had backup plans on backup plans and took armies and multiple loops to defeat. He could never job that hard. Subaru was playing on hard mode in season one.

Alternatively, if Subaru doesn’t abuse RbD it makes basically no plot sense. That was why I hated Arc 5. An entire city collapsed and Subaru did NOTHING. He’s not using it to find a better outcome he just accepts everything’s fucked which just sucks.

@realrvmin @KiToro404Error Nah we saw it. It was just wrong. The conundrum of season 2 took a huge amount of grinding to figure out a solution to it. He just conveniently decided to stop after he had the information he needed to win. And then in Priestella he had Al to do the resetting for him.

Despite me slandering Mushoku Tensei I really love and appreciate a lot of what it does , I just think comparing it or putting it in the same conversation as the best anime ever created is insane but despite that it’s a great show that I’d recommend a solid 8/10!

@FukakaiHito Has to improve on and in Mushoku they do the same thing with Rudeus and Eris’ boundaries but then they undermine it by making light of his behavior for the sake of gags and jokes it’s counter to what the narrative is trying to do with Rudy he can relapse whatever that’s fine but-
