I’m exhausted mentally and physically but tonight I found out we urgently need thermal drones. Without them, we are almost paralyzed at night. I have a chance to get at least one on Monday.  Maybe two, if I can somehow make it happen. But I can’t do it alone. This is me asking directly, desperately, and honestly: please help. Every donation, every share, every message to someone who might be able to help matters right now.  We are infantry, our safety depends on it.  Our ability to move, see, and survive depends on it. Please help us get a drone before Monday. paypal.com/donate?campaig… #Support93 #SupportUkraine

We shall require Saltholm Slot and/or Lindholm for our lovely half of Hans Island from the Danes I'm sure they're insisting upon. Also, Saint Pierre and Miquelon oddity requires reciprocation en francais. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Today, I’ve accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation to serve as Canada’s Ambassador to the European Union. I take on this role for the same reason I entered public life: to serve Canada. Thank you for your trust, your candour, and your belief that we can always do better. Read my full message here: open.substack.com/pub/jonathanwi…

We need to connect people directly to treatment, stabilization, and long-term recovery instead of referring them to drug consumption sites. We are shutting down the Sheldon M. Chumir supervised consumption site in Calgary and reinvesting those funds into expanded addiction treatment, medical detox, recovery supports and 24-hour outreach teams that will help more people move from crisis toward recovery. Shutting down sites like this increases public safety, revitalizes local businesses, and gets those struggling with addiction into the programs they need.

@robthebeaver @ABDanielleSmith Mandatory treatment has highest relapse rates and iatrogenic trauma. Closing SCS increases health care and first responders burden, and they reported an increase in dispersed calls and burnout after Red Deer SCS was closed.

two things that “radicalized” me about this useless stupid war: 1) these videos are often posted with masturbatory glee 2) the victims are always uniformed but very often unarmed and without helmets… almost like they’re PoWs who have been released and hunted on video for sport

🇨🇦💸To Canadians who are now looking at $2/litre (and rising). Before you blame it on Trump, here's a reminder. Canada has the 3rd largest oil reserves in the world. It's our Liberal Prime Minister who won't allow us to use them. Plus the Prime Minister before him had a decade to prepare for this, but also wouldn’t us to prepare nor prosper 11 years of planned decline! This was NOT by chance!

@erinotoole @ThomasHall17 Main point remains, RCMP role can be rolled into CCG through current discussions. Already playing a role in detection and intelligence, and law enforcement can also be expanded upon integration of U(x)Vs I've heard nothing but poor arguments from opposition.

The U.S. Coast Guard is a branch of the United States Armed Forces and is considered a military service at all times. Guess they've been doing "creative accounting" for a really long time, eh Erin? The problem was we weren't treating the Canadian Coast Guard that way.
Erin O'Toole@erinotoole

While there is a little bit of creative accounting with the Coast Guard and a few other measures, they are minor. The govt should be applauded for making Canada relevant in NATO once again and showing support for an important alliance. Bravo Zulu. 🇨🇦 cbc.ca/news/politics/…

@jamesbezan CCG talks ongoing about increasing scope. With USVs UUVs their capability could eclipse standard armaments this year.

The whole point of the NATO 2% target is to strengthen our collective defence, not to do creative accounting by moving non-military bureaucracies into defence departments. When will the Liberals commit to getting our troops the equipment they need to defend Canada?

@erinotoole @ThomasHall17 I'd like to know more about the NATO standard for coast guards and how this could be met through discussions held currently w/ rapid armaments through U(x)Vs which will likely eclipse NATO operational standards if implemented If you have any reference I'd like to read more sir.

@AnitaAnandMP @NATO @CanadianForces Trudeau was to have that done within a 10-year period and he didn't do it. Missed that 10-year deadline. Carney just picked up the pieces. From my understanding it should now be 5%.

Today, @NATO confirmed that Canada has reached the Alliance’s 2% defence spending target. This is a major step in our work to rebuild and rearm the @CanadianForces. These transformative investments will help us protect our people and our values in a changing world. 🇨🇦

@erinotoole @ThomasHall17 So it's not creative accounting, it's aligning with your right call on this. I told you so's are never so sweet eh? With USV UUV adaptations the CCG could be well equipped this year.

@ThomasHall17 I spoke about this issue 10 years ago when I first ran for leader. I think the CCG should be paramilitary like others, but certain criteria need to be met. We are now doing the training & changes needed. I will await your acknowledgment. archives.nato.int/definition-of-…

@Ki_flows @erinotoole But either way, it's not new spending. So maybe we were already reaching it. Why should moving an expense from one column to the other be celebrated as a huge accomplishment?

@Ki_flows @Adrianhorsepow @kinsellawarren @grok They do if the coast guard performs military functions and some do. Canada's is unarmed though and doesn't do any swashbuckling naval stuff they call in the navy if violence is needed. This was purely an accounting trick to hit the target and people bought it. Well done Carney.
