Cancer is a very draining disease, healthwise, emotionally and even resourcewise. It has adverse effects on both the patient and those close to him or her. I say this as a person who lost a parent to cancer when I was only 10. Seeing my mom writhe in pain and watching her fade away left me traumatised for a long time. Anytime I hear someone has cancer, I can’t help but deeply sympathise, to a point of shedding tears. And this was my reaction last evening when news broke that Kate, Princes of Wales was being treated for Cancer. I can’t even begin to imagine how strenuous this is for her, physically and emotionally. I also sympathise with the family especially Prince William who has to take care of his father and his wife, both being treated for cancer, and be required to remain strong for his young children and the country. I wish both the King and the Princess quick recovery, and may the family be strengthened during this very difficult moment.
