Today we're releasing PLAID — an open database of six product-level trade indicators, generated by an ensemble of frontier LLMs. Covers ~5,400 HS-6 products across all revisions since 1992. Paper: kielinstitut.de/publications/p… Data: trade.ifw-kiel.de/PLAID/ @kielinstitute @unibielefeld

We are excited to share PLAID with the research community and encourage others to use it in their work. Feedback is especially welcome—we’re actively improving the system and would love input on performance in practice and on additional indicators that would be useful.

All code is open source: github.com/julianhinz/PLA… indicators are available and fully transparent at trade.ifw-kiel.de/PLAID, and can be downloaded directly for empirical analysis or accessed via API.
