@KildareStreet

Like the Irish parliamentary record, but legible, searchable and with customisable alerts so what you want to know comes to you automatically.

Some of you make nonprofit donations at this time of year. Bravo 😀 Please consider KildareStreet.com which serves over a million people in Ireland and currently receives only about €40 per week kldr.st/FiverAMonth

Update: having said point blank that they do not have any of the laptop I ordered, the scam seller is *still taking orders for it* Avoid. Refurbed.ie. Scamming wankers. refurbed.ie/p/lenovo-think…
John Handelaar@handelaar

Update: not only did refurbed.ie take >€500 for a laptop then send an unusable different laptop, seller then offered a discount to make me not send it back, then admits it *NEVER* had the item I actually bought in the first place. Scam shop. Thieves. Liars. AVOID

Apols: KildareStreet's been slowed down today, and will take a little while as I figure out how to wrangle data files lefthanded-only. Bear with.

We would not have known that the Minister had inserted this dangerous amendment if not for @KildareStreet's alert service. It sent @JamesBrowneTD's (single sentence) explanation about the amendment when he introduced it at the Senate to my inbox.

The Government has introduced a last minute amendment that will gag people from speaking about how the DPC handles their complaint and about how Big Tech firms are misusing their data @ICCLtweet calls on all parties in the Dáil to challenge amendment. iccl.ie/news/last-minu…

@nwl88444048 @neil_ie @cansgrejo If the collapsed results are confusing you, you can add "groupby:speech" to your query to disable that. Should help (had to look that up in source code cos nobody's ever used it before 🙂)

@KildareStreet @neil_ie @cansgrejo When the search word is followed by punctuation eg a full stop, comma or question mark, it doesn't appear in search results.

Hey @KildareStreet your claim that you're searchable when compared to the Oireachtas record is looking shaky. Unlike Oireachtas.ie, when you search for "Collins" on your website, you WON'T see "Collins's" or "Collins," or "Collins?". Can anything be done about that?

You may have noticed that Written Answers on KildareStreet.com are being delayed by significantly more than a week at the moment. It's because the full set of answers for any given day hasn't been published during the correct week, not even once, since April.

Maybe whoever's behind @OireachtasNews has a clue since it's got somewhat more urgent in the last month -- they broke the output on the "old" oireachtas debates site recently and now we can't get any Written Answers without (daily) bothering someone by email

Perhaps one of our followers at the Oireachtas can help here: We've been trying to get someone responsible for their much-trumpeted "open data API" to answer questions or take a bug report without any success -- or even a reply -- for FOUR YEARS. (spoiler: it's unusably shit.)

FYI because this site is now run by an actual fascist who only grew up in apartheid South Africa because his father saw an opportunity to get rich by exploiting black labour, this account is now blocked from all search results on Twitter.

So we were about to reopen and then with less than 1 week of notice @FixYourStreet has been shut down and we have nowhere to send your reports for now. Because in Ireland it's ok to destroy civic infrastructure and blame someone else. Thanks, @DarraghOBrienTD !

@KildareStreet Bug on your site. When you select a TD [with the intention of searching that TD's contributions], the screen goes blank. Thanks.

Think we've finally locked down the issue with site performance on KildareStreet.com that's been bugging people for the last several weeks. Sorry for the annoyance and thanks for bearing with us
