We went live on air at a local radio station in Rukwa Region, to hear directly from farmers about post-harvest losses and how hermetic storage bags are making a difference for them. The farmers shared their personal experiences about using hermetic bags.

Fun, learning, & climate action all in one! Together with local villagers and community champions, SAT is bringing sustainable farming to life by showing how to intercrop cocoa with shade trees, maintain proper spacing, mix in organic manure, and prepare planting holes.

Farmer-Centered #Agroecology Research in Action: The Project Team observed some interesting patterns in the field trials which focus on solutions for wilting of sesame and tomatoes, and maize affected by armyworm. Stay tuned for the Research Results Presentation Workshop.

As part of our sustainable community development efforts, farmer-to-farmer facilitators have been trained at the FTC on how to form and manage saving and lending groups. Now they're putting their training into practice, as the new farmer groups begin contributing their shares.

Laying the groundwork for grapes: This week, the sisters and farmers have been busy excavating trenches along measured contours for grape propagation and doing direct contouring to locate swales. These swales will help harvest water from the road and store it in the soil.
