Shawanaga First Nation and Wasauksing First Nation will be conducting a traditional deer harvest at Killbear Provincial Park from November 27 to December 3. For everyone’s safety, the park will be closed to the public during this time.

40 metres of HWY 559, the municipal roadway to and from the park, were damaged during a storm event on July 06 and July 07. Due to the damage, the road is temporarily closed, and vehicular access to and from the park is not possible.

This budding plant is called black huckleberry and its #AtHomeAtKillbear . The shrub is considered fire-resistant because after a fire the surviving rhizomes will quickly send out new shoots to regrow.🌱 #AtHomeAtKillbear #KillbearPP

Have you ever seen a salamander this size? Eastern Red-backed Salamanders are the only fully terrestrial salamander species in Ontario. This means that newly hatched salamanders of this species look like miniature adults as opposed to having an aquatic larval stage.

Our gates open on Friday, May 9th! 🏕️ Sites are still available! So, make sure to book your campsite! Main Office is open 9am- 9pm. Starting Saturday May 10th the Discovery Centre will be open 10am-3pm everyday! We can't wait to see the park bustling with visitors again! ⛺
