Year 4 have been developing their pedestrian skills as part of their road safety education. Pupils learned how to cross roads safely, identify potential hazards, and navigate different types of crossings with care.

Reception made some fantastic kites to try on a windy day!

Year 4 learned how to build a simple series circuit using wires, a cell and a bulb. They discovered that the bulb only lights up when the circuit is complete. The children also had a go at drawing their circuits using the correct scientific symbols.

As part of their homework, Year 4 designed their own unique habitats and imagined brand-new species that could live there. This exciting project linked to their Science learning about different habitats and how animals adapt to survive them.

Year 1 have been exploring arrays using cubes. We found that some arrays had the same numbers in them, for example 3 groups of 5 or 5 groups of 3.

The children in Reception have been learning how to use a ruler to draw straight lines. They were then challenged to draw lines of different lengths and label the number of centimetres.

Working in pairs, Year 4 practised the walking bass using chromatic glockenspiels, focusing on the notes A♯ and D♯. They learned the first section of the bass line (C E G A A♯ A G E x2) and then the second section (F A C D D♯ D C A), taking turns to play each part.

In D&T Year 3 were creating their healthy sandwiches. They have spent the last few weeks designing and planning how to make the perfect sandwich! They were then able to taste their own sandwich and review these.

In PSHE, Year 2 have been thinking about foods that are good for our body. We made fruit kebabs and enjoyed them with our friends. We thought about why fruit is a healthy snack and how it gives us energy for the day.

Year 1 learnt about crossing the road safely and then went outside to practise it during PSHE lessons.

Children in reception have been exploring capacity this week using the water tray and measuring cylinders in the garden.

Here are Reception using the natural resources in the reception garden to create our own potions. We have created potions that are "refreshing like spring" and ones that "make us strong!".

Year 4 became young electricians, experimenting with different materials in simple circuits to investigate whether they are conductors or insulators. From metal spoons to rubber bands, they tested a range of objects and were thrilled to see which allowed electricity to flow!

Year 1 have been studying colour and texture. They looked at photos of birds, and identified the colours in the birds, making their own colour panels for each bird.
