Playing some @pathofexile 2 right. Been a good weekend warrior experience so far. Until I made it to act 2 and trying to best Rathbreaker... I got one question for the design team... Who hurt you? This fight has me questioning if I'm supposed to win or not because wtf.

@onyxicca Had a year and a half gap on mine. Job market is rough. That's all it was.

Actually it can work out. Just show them you spent time on literally anything else that's productive and requires discipline and time management skills. Doesn't have to be a job. I've gotten hired for my hobby portfolios even for positions that aren't even related.

How do you stay motivated to play through challenging parts of a game?

@onyxicca Back in my Elite Dangerous days. I had been part of the team that was credited with first kill on the tier 2 pve boss fight equivalents. Still pretty proud of that.

What's the most impressive in-game accomplishment you've achieved?

@Stephen_Stanton I've found a lot of enjoyment in Noble Oak and ASW Soloist. Both really nice pours.

@HershButt If you can't frame the relevant details of the world in the first chapter... You are doing too much in one book. Favorite example of it working. Dragons of Autumn Twilight. First pages are character intros and motivations. The rest is as it develops.

The first 100 pages shouldn’t be pure world building. Blend it in with the characters. Introduce the world through their eyes, not as a history lesson.

I legitimately lost my spark for life over a year ago and I’m not being dramatic when I say I woke up everyday and thought about killing myself, I still do most days but the best advice I have for someone in my position is now when I wake up and I try and find one thing that I enjoy in that day, like the smell of someone I love or the sun when it shines through the trees at 4pm and then I think about how if I was dead I wouldn’t be able to do that and then I do it again. It hasn’t cured me or taken away the feeling but what it does do is ground me back into the day instead of not being present and that’s enough.

@onyxicca Man I can't imagine how bad it is. I remember getting weird reactions to playing DemoLocke back in Legion. And that was just because it was "too strong for a lazy class"

I can't imagine it being healthy to play a spec that gets so much hate for just existing. If Courage was a stat on gear, I'd be stacked with it for even playing Aug at all.

@DeejayKnight It's even more wild since the just onslaught of releases from major studios and production companies that are getting dunked on for being unplayable at launch. I saw this coming like two years ago. The fact that they don't see the impossible deadlines as the problem is evident.

This hurts. Gaming layoffs continue. The idea that Guerilla, Insomniac & Naughty Dog are losing people in addition to London Studio being shut down is absolutely wild to me. May all those affected find gainful employment soon. 🙏🏾

@thejimjammiest Because that 25 year period is about how long folks like himself are in the business. It's a comment from a basis of ego. There are a plethora of filmmakers doing really good work. And it's actually on an upward trend. 3-5 years ago I'd say it was stale and dry. But not now.

i gotta disagree with this take. there are always gunna be dumbass tv shows to choose from but 2023 had some amazing thought provoking titles; Succession, The Bear, The Curse and the latest season of Fargo, just to name a few. also why are we including game of Thrones in the "golden era" when it had one of the most half assed, disappointing conclusions in tv history. I'd much rather watch anything released this year than that last season.

@BukkitBrown Candles under an elevated metal bowl can be used to warm a small space in a dire pinch. It won't be cozy but it helps.

Anyone else feel like their chats are like extremely quiet more than ever lately or is it just me? Its incredibly hard for me to gauge if I am entertaining or not. I appreciate lurkers, everyone is 100% welcomed to lurk. I'm just curious if its me. Just thoughts swimming.

@onyxicca People really just can't sit with their own thought huh... I mean seriously turn based is fine. Allows a lot of room to consider actions and next moves. Or better yet... I can walk away and not worry about it just doing things out of turn

"ruins games" lol Baldur's Gate 3 is a beloved game for very many, I wonder how many got over the fact that it's turned based if they didn't already mind that aspect. Personally it was awkward at first but the cutscenes/story make up for it. If it's not your vibe then so be it.

Yea, you know what I finally feel like its ok to say. I am depressed. I have been for the past 2.5 months and it really hit around my Birthday harder than it has in years. I will be ok eventually. I know people wont care to read something like this because its not "media standard

@BukkitBrown ... Who hurt these people that just mundane small talk doesn't just maybe make them anxious... But aggravate them. I have to seriously wonder how miserable they are even in their own solitude because it just seems like a rough way to live to detest people that much.
