@ddaaannnniiii The rhyme isn’t 100%. It’s a basis to most but there are genetic mutations out there and some variations of the coral snake doesn’t always follow that rule. You have to use identifiers that are correct with this species. Red and yellow isn’t one of them.

I have coral snakes all over my land in FL. Have seen a 4+ footer. The whole red yellow black thing goes out the window when you’re about to step on one.

I’ve never seen or even really heard of anyone getting bit by a coral snake. I was starting to think they aren’t even really that bad. Thanks for the reminder, Josh. If red touches yellow, it’ll fuck you up. If red touches black, you’re all good, it’s a king snake, as they say.

@NashTalksTexas This saying isn’t true at all Nash. There’s been known genetic mutations that doesn’t fit this false saying. There’s also been coral snakes found that don’t have any shades of red, one in Florida I know of. Use trustworthy identifiers and not the color rhyme.
