For a few years in my childhood, I thought Lucille had left him with 400 children.

There is overwhelming research showing homework does little to improve achievement, especially in early years, and can actually have negative effects. Recess however has many positive effects such as improved self regulation of emotions, improved interpersonal skills and focus!

Good morning! Be intentional about letting others know they belong. Make them feel seen, heard, and valued. Do the little things that make others feel appreciated and an important part of your community. All of us want to know we matter so pass that gift on to someone today!👊

We are not teaching mini adults but children. Let them learn, play, and simply be children. Let's give them time to get being a child right before putting the pressures on of being an adult.

Example is the only way to teach! Show your children and your students the best way to grow by leading.

Maybe if we rename recess and free play as "SEL", creativity, and innovation building time we might realize that they're foundational to learning and not a break from it.

Middle Level Educators are struggling with the dramatic changes in young adolescents. It is hard to engage &connect with kids. They are easy to anger, struggle with emotions, lost their filter regarding respect and have a lack of focus in school. Time for new ideas and solutions
