@liamrlord @fesshole We’re are in agreement on that and definitely life altering decisions require you to take a beat and weight out things before acting. But, you can also argue that what you ‘feel’ right now is a manifestation of subtle subconscious logical observations

@kindimmer @fesshole I agree that emotions matter when making decisions. But mainly, its your emotional and psychological well-being should be the factor, not temporal "happiness." My point, however, was to not irreparably alter the direction of your life based on how you feel right now.

My wife has admitted that she's never had "butterflies" for anyone. I don't know I feel about this. I still get butterflies for her. Is she emotionally void or should I let her go so she can find her "butterflies" elsewhere because she obviously doesn't feel the same way I do?

@liamrlord @fesshole Feelings and irrational acting is what separates us from machines and algorithms. Sure, not learning from past mistakes and acting purely on emotion is probably not a wise life strategy but let’s not underestimate the power in acting on your feelings

Most of the choices people make that lead to unhappiness are because they were led by their "feelings." This social narrative that we should do what makes us feel "happy" is, over the long term, wrecking lives. Take a look at your relationship and weigh up why you're right for one another or why you're not. Then sod the feelings, as they will change constantly over the course of your life anyway. If its abusive, leave. Dont stay because you "feel" love. If you've been married for 30 years and no longer "feel" the romance. Don't throw it away.
