@sholard_mancity through on the parts not written into the bill is the real question and Kenya's track record on that front is what's making people rightfully skeptical.
@sholard_mancity not bill text
"Activation" is undefined, creating enforcement ambiguity
The VAT exemption (the biggest consumer relief) only kicks in January 2027, not immediately
So phones should eventually get cheaper if the full package is implemented faithfully. Whether Treasury follows
BREAKING: As I promised you, today I expose how John Mbadi MISLED & LIED to Kenyans on phone prices in the Finance Bill.
I have now gone through:
-the Finance Bill 2026,
-the VAT Act,
-The Excise Duty Act.
And the truth is shocking.
Phone prices will go UP, not down.
Mbadi and UDA bloggers have been all over social media saying:
“Read the bill.”
“VAT on phones has been removed.”
“Taxes have been compressed into one tax.”
But after reading the ACTUAL laws, that is NOT what is happening.
Let's begin.
@MaryK2022 Ata kama ni agenda. This misinformation is too much. The thing about SHA automatic deductions is that it's an M-Pesa product that you opt in willingly. Get your facts right. WANTAM. Happy Engagement Farming 🫴🏿
Finance Bill 2026/27 was cleverly crafted to hide harmful amendments in plain sight. The loud, outrageous proposals targeting the financial sector grab all the attention, then they will get withdrawn, while those that will hurt wananchi quietly slip thru
@kerubo_hillary harvesting illegal to force residents to buy their water. However, there is no active law, policy, or enforcement that prevents you from setting up a rainwater tank at your home.
@kerubo_hillary to direct concentrated, excess rainwater runoff onto public roads, paths, or directly into sewer/drainage systems. Doing so causes public safety hazards and flooding.Utility Monopoly Rumors: A popular urban legend claims the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company makes private
@iceaxehikes@reeceollld I lean towards this explanation as well. I hate those anti-collision systems, they always cut off all throttle response at the worst time possible. They even can and do apply emergency breaks without considering traffic behind you.
Modern vehicles have a fuel pump relay that disables the pump when a significant crash is detected. The idea is to prevent high preasure fuel from being sprayed into the crash. He probably lost engine power and had barely enough fuel to back up. The delay was confusion and the engine stalling and the panic would be normal.
@Safaricom_Care@georgenjoroge_ My simcard used to work just fine then boom out of nowhere the Lipa na Mpesa option just stopped working on the STK toolkit. I had to replace that card at a fee of 100
@georgenjoroge_ Hello @georgenjoroge_ , the service has not been disabled. You might be using an older version of a simcard that needs to be replaced since it has no capacity for the lipa na M-PESA menu. Apologies for the inconvenience.^MM
Why has @Safaricom_Care disabled Lipa Na M-Pesa from the SIM Toolkit on some lines?
You’re clearly forcing everyone to download the new Saf One App, which only works with your bundles.
Even mama Mboga using a Mulika phone is affected.
This is just a shameless push for more data revenue
While making a delivery, a man walked up seven flights of stairs carrying a heavy package (over 20 kg) to a woman living on the seventh floor of an apartment building. The journey was exhausting, so it took him nearly twenty minutes to reach her door, hand over the item, and complete the payment.
When he finally came back down, he was shocked to find his motorbike had been vandalized. Thieves had stripped it almost bare, leaving behind only what they didn’t want.
The real question is: Who is buying all these stolen vehicle spare parts?
Media platforms were warned not to take photos or videos during the fuel talk meeting with matatu associates.
They were warned, but someone just pretended he was holding her phone, took a snap when they were issuing cheques.
The photo is from a state official. It was taken secretly during the envelope distribution. Each envelope had a KSh 2 million cheque.
The matatu associates froze and declared that the protest had been suspended countrywide. They turned the protest into millions...into wealth.
Going home smiling with KSh 2 million plus job promises.
Just same like Mprara Kebaso who became millionaire in just months.
So today a homeless guy outside a pizza spot asked me if I could buy him something to eat.
He said he was hungry, and without really thinking twice I told him, “Yeah, okay.”
Then immediately after that, he starts telling me his order preferences 😭
Talking about, “I like extra cheese and pepperoni.”
Mind you… I was already doing this out of kindness, not because I’m DoorDash.
So I went inside and bought him a regular cheese slice. Nothing crazy, but still food.
I come back out, hand it to him, and this man looks at the pizza, looks at me, and goes, “I said I like extra cheese and pepperoni.”
The entitlement almost took me OUT.
So I looked right back at him and said, “You can take it or leave it.”
And instead of just accepting the slice, he….
@TansuYegen@ntsa_kenya mnalalisha. You're leaving money on the table. Overlapping idiots could fetch you easy money as an institution with the right tools and supporting laws if there are none. Suggestion, deploy field agents with recording gadgets.
Philippines police rode a city bus in the bus only lane, let cars motorcycles tailgate to dodge traffic, then stepped off at the end ticketed every single driver one by one 🚍
