Bethesda was hit with layoffs across multiple studios today: BGS, ZOS, Arkane, iD, and more
But one of the things I keep noticing is many who were let go are veterans of these companies with years of experience. Some literally climbed the ranks internally for a decade and were let go
These people were cornerstones for these games. I really think this is going to be felt for players and the community dynamic going forward

For years the player base suggested improvements, which were very much low hanging fruit and were ignored… this year they listened to the community , implemented suggestions from at least 5 years ago and it was unanimous throughout the community it was the best patch ever…
Am I shocked they fired half the staff considering they did more improvement in this one year than the last 5 years? I’m sure not all the staff deserved the boot but Jesus Christ, a lot of community managers and senior staff ignored the player base for the longest time. They treated a lot of players like the enemy and just churned out slop!
If anything this news makes me want to play the game more knowing that suggestions on how to improve ESO won’t fall on deaf ears and some MAJOR dead weight has been shifted.
Let’s not have a knee jerk reaction over this 😹🫡

20 some odd years later and WoW is still the only game that has to shut down for a few hours (sometimes all day) to change absolutely nothing and fix even less every Tuesday
