I have to give it to them; The scammers in Paris are very good. Even I got scammed with my daughter and I thought I'm pretty savvy having travelled all continents except Antarctica for decades. Here's how it happened: I had trouble buying metro tickets and an elderly gentleman in a suit & tie asked if we need help. He bought & paid for our tickets, gave them to us, we used them successfully at the gates and he escorted us to the right metro line. There I thanked him & asked how I could repay him. He said nothing is needed, because I have such a beautiful daughter that it was his pleasure to help and give us a nice experience of Paris. He continued that however if I want, he'll accept only the amount back that he paid, if I happen to have cash. He showed me the receipt (1 adult and 1 child, 3 day pass). I was happy, rounded it up, thanked him again and paid him. The scam was the receipt was for 3 day tickets but he actually bought only 1 hour tickets. €20 lost but a priceless lesson gained! 👍
