@touristeagle1 @ArmstrongKamwi When did Botswana 🇧🇼 get their independence
English

@King_ntaimo08 @ArmstrongKamwi How did Botswana do it?? They are also landlocked and their only viable neighbor was South Africa.
Their presidents weren't as involved as KK in the struggle and today, the fruits of all that are showing.
They were banking on Zambia to do the dirty work

Who looted this country like KK? The dictator inherited northern Rhodesia and barotseland in a good state. He destroyed the economy and left the country drudging. Talking of farming he advanced it much in a reverse gear.

@ArmstrongKamwi read history first. KK deserves criticism where necessary, yes—but he also deserves respect, gratitude, and honor. To me, he remains one of the greatest presidents Zambia has ever had.

@ArmstrongKamwi on routes controlled by hostile white minority regimes. Sanctions, closed borders, and sabotage affected Zambia badly. Yet KK still stood firm because he believed African freedom was bigger than personal comfort.
Kenneth Kaunda was not a tribal president—he was a national leader
English

@ArmstrongKamwi liberation, helping nations like South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola, and Mozambique fight for independence. That came at a huge cost to Zambia’s economy because the West and colonial powers made sure to punish him for it.
People forget that our economy was heavily dependent
English

@ArmstrongKamwi colonial rule and apartheid—Southern Rhodesia, South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, and others. Zambia was under constant economic and political pressure because KK chose principle over comfort. He opened Zambia’s doors to freedom fighters and stood for Pan-African
