As much as I know myself, I found out that finding a place to belong is so exhausting. And it made me devalued myself.

You don’t lose people all at once. You just slowly stop being someone they prioritise.

The version of you that everyone likes is usually the version that costs you the most peace. The moment you start setting boundaries, you'll find out very quickly who was 'loyal' to you and who was just loyal to the convenience you provided...

@King_ntaimo08 @ArmstrongKamwi How did Botswana do it?? They are also landlocked and their only viable neighbor was South Africa. Their presidents weren't as involved as KK in the struggle and today, the fruits of all that are showing. They were banking on Zambia to do the dirty work

maybe betrayal, poor coordination, or someone pulled out at the last minute. Many plotters were arrested with Captain Solo, while others spent years hiding in neighboring countries before returning. A powerful and fascinating chapter of Zambia’s history—my view, my reflection.

In 1996, Zambia 🇿🇲witnessed a failed coup attempt against President Frederick Chiluba, led by Captain Solo and a group of 50–70 soldiers or more. including highly trained army officers.

To me, something clearly went wrong. A real coup requires control of the Head of State, key military bases, and major government institutions—but in Captain Solo’s case, only ZNBC seemed to be taken. It feels like the plan collapsed before it fully began.

@ArmstrongKamwi read history first. KK deserves criticism where necessary, yes—but he also deserves respect, gratitude, and honor. To me, he remains one of the greatest presidents Zambia has ever had. I salute President Kenneth Kaunda.

@ArmstrongKamwi You of all people have no right to speak so carelessly and disrespectfully about . It is always easy to judge someone when you refuse to look at the time and circumstances they led through. When Zambia gained independence in 1964, we were surrounded by countries still under

@ArmstrongKamwi No leader is. Some decisions may have been wrong, but he led during the Cold War—one of the hardest periods in modern history. Sometimes leaders make difficult choices when there are no easy options. Before throwing stones at a tired soldier who fought for both Zambia and Africa,

@ArmstrongKamwi He invested in education, health, and infrastructure—, hospitals, schools, roads, and many national institutions were strengthened under his leadership. Even after leaving office, he was not a rich man hoarding stolen wealth. That alone should tell you something. Was he perfect?

@ArmstrongKamwi who preached “One Zambia, One Nation,” and that unity is one of the greatest gifts we still enjoy today. Imagine if leadership had been built on tribe; this country would have been divided from day one. Instead, he helped build peace and national identity.

@ArmstrongKamwi on routes controlled by hostile white minority regimes. Sanctions, closed borders, and sabotage affected Zambia badly. Yet KK still stood firm because he believed African freedom was bigger than personal comfort. Kenneth Kaunda was not a tribal president—he was a national leader

@ArmstrongKamwi liberation, helping nations like South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola, and Mozambique fight for independence. That came at a huge cost to Zambia’s economy because the West and colonial powers made sure to punish him for it. People forget that our economy was heavily dependent

@ArmstrongKamwi colonial rule and apartheid—Southern Rhodesia, South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, and others. Zambia was under constant economic and political pressure because KK chose principle over comfort. He opened Zambia’s doors to freedom fighters and stood for Pan-African
