In 1996, Zambia 🇿🇲witnessed a failed coup attempt against President Frederick Chiluba, led by Captain Solo and a group of 50–70 soldiers or more. including highly trained army officers.

To me, something clearly went wrong. A real coup requires control of the Head of State, key military bases, and major government institutions—but in Captain Solo’s case, only ZNBC seemed to be taken. It feels like the plan collapsed before it fully began.
