Rannikot Fort is the correct name, not “Raani Kot.” “Ranni” refers to a hill stream that flows through the fort. The fort, which is surrounded to this stream, is therefore called Rannikot Fort. It is believed that the fort was built during the Rai Dynasty of Sindh (450–662 AD).

However, some historical sources suggest that it may have been constructed by the Iranian Sassanids. Video courtesy FB page

غزل پيار جي ڳالھ ڦهلجي وئي هئي. شهر  ڳَليُن ۾ اُڇلجي  وئي هئي. لوڪ  خنجر کڻي هنيا مهڻن جا، درد ۾ دل ئي دهلجي وئي هئي. روڳ ۾ ڌڙڪنون ٽُٽل گهنگهرُو، سوڳ ۾ دل وِکيرجي وئي هئي. نيڻ   آلن   ۾   لڙڪ     ٽانڊا    ها، دل وڇوڙي ۾  پڄرجي وئي  هئي. 👇
