It’s been hard work trying to make compost so far this summer until we started getting a bit of rain a couple of weeks ago. Going beautifully now though. Turning windrows this morning after last nights rain!💩♻️

Our areas of winter bird seed are providing some vital nourishment to the farm land birds during this cold weather. The cracked seed pods of the radish are a clear sign that they’re making good use of it.

Great night hosting the HCBA autumn social yesterday. A good talk from Belmont Farm Vets who spoke to the members about the current animal health and welfare pathway government grants available. And some lovely food prepared by @MegEleri @UKHerefords

Direct drilling a GS4 herbal ley into a summer cover crop today, gone in an absolute treat! The pass of the drill and Cambridge roll should be enough to knock the cover crop back adequately to let the herbal ley grow away from it!

Some very nice Rizosheaths developing on our Mustard, Buckwheat, Phacelia catch crop. Planted one week ago, seem to be finding a bit of moisture! 🤞
