H.E. Justin Sun 👨‍🚀 🌞@justinsuntron

I have known @VitalikButerin for eight years now. Vitalik is younger than me, but his insights far exceed mine. I have always been able to learn from Vitalik. Although in the Crypto world, many people may see us as representatives of different values in the crypto world, as if we are parallel lines that have never intersected, in fact, we have known each other much longer than everyone knows. In 2015, Ethereum had just started, and at that time, I had just entered Jack Ma's Hupan University, trying to do something in the crypto world with a small team of just over 30 people. At the end of 2015, I met with Vitalik at my company to discuss the recently launched Ethereum. At that time, I had already bought a lot of Ether, but there were no decentralized mobile wallets to store it. As everyone knows, the explosion of the mobile internet in China in 2015 led all applications to start transitioning to mobile. I suggested to Vitalik that we should quickly launch an Android Ethereum blockchain wallet. Vitalik agreed with my suggestion and shared with me several prototypes of mobile wallets developed by community application developers. It can be said that although we were not sure how much crypto would change everyone’s life at that time, Vitalik and I both deeply recognized that, as he mentioned in the article, “we are not here to just create isolated tools and games, but rather build holistically toward a more free and open society and economy, where the different parts - technological, social and economic - fit into each other.” In other words, we are building a new order of technology and finance. Eight years later, although the two of us may be realizing all this in our own different ways, as I grow older, I realize more and more that what I share with Vitalik far exceeds our differences. For example, decentralization. We should minimize the impact of a single person on the open protocol, so that even if the founder disappears forever, the program should run eternally. For example, auditability. Anyone should be able to verify the logic of applications and continuously run a full node to ensure that the program runs according to the instructions of open-source documentation. For example, Open global participation. Anyone in the world should be able to participate as a user, developer, or validator, as equally as possible. Participation itself should be permissionless. For example, credible neutrality. The infrastructure of the base layer should be neutral, and in a way that even those who do not trust the developers can see its neutrality. It can be said that TRON, BitTorrent, and many protocols and applications that have intersected with me are also operating with the same values as Ethereum. TRON's total users have already exceeded 200 million, and the number of BitTorrent protocol users has also surpassed 2 billion. The above values are the foundation for the long-term peace and order of internet protocols. I do not agree with the excessive financialization of blockchain protocols, although blockchain protocols have long been inseparable from finance, but after all, this is still only a part of internet protocols and technology. Technology is the origin of the blockchain world, and finance is just a derivative of its technology. Although many people join the cryptocurrency community because of the wealth effect, the persistence in technological values is still the most important. For example, myself, at least I joined the cryptocurrency community because I initially thought this technology had the potential to change the world. Even in a sense, in terms of the future development of blockchain, philosophically, there is no difference between me and Vitalik. This similarity comes from practice itself because adhering to these values is the basis for the blockchain world to become a better order. If we do not adhere to these values, then the new world we create will be no different from the old world we abhor, and our lifelong efforts will lose their meaning. No matter how blockchain ultimately reaches the other shore, I think it will be fortunate.

best bridges via @Delphi_Digital Circle's CCTP Best Execution (No Fees, No Slippage): USDC can be burned/minted 1:1 with no liquidity pools or slippage. @circle The future of cross-chain is intent-based, with value accruing to solvers. @Uniswap @THORChain @Chainflip Across as an example to articulate our overarching thesis that the future of cross-chain will be intent-based. A unique aspect of intent-based liquidity networks is their ability to tap into off-chain liquidity through an open, permissionless marketplace of off-chain actors known as solvers (relayers in Across lingo). @AcrossProtocol token bridges: LayerZero omnichain tokens, LayerZero Aptos, Wormhole Portal @wormholecrypto

by @Delphi_Digital "Predictions for 2024: Ordinals will flourish as we head into the halving and renewed interest in Bitcoin. With over 40M inscriptions to date, this translates to an astonishing rate of more than 100,000 new ‘NFTs’ created daily on the Bitcoin blockchain. Despite a significant portion of these inscriptions being BRC-20s, (more akin to fungible tokens), the volume is nonetheless remarkable. ORDI, the first BRC-20 which we talked about in our BRC-20 report, hit a $1B market cap this month. It shows how the animal spirits are well and alive on Ordinals. In our view, as detailed in our Ordinals report, Ordinals is poised to emerge as a pivotal protocol layer for generating fully on-chain, immutable, and censorship-resistant digital artifacts. This platform aligns perfectly with the ethos of Bitcoin, especially for store-of-value assets like high-value digital art. Within the Ordinals ecosystem, we are keeping an eye out for items with historical & cultural significance that can generate attention. Some examples include: The emergence of Rare sats as unique, collectible Satoshis. Digital artifacts like OCM Dimensions, which pioneered the use of recursions. Cultural movements like Ordinal Maxi Biz & Taproot Wizards. Early # inscriptions, such as Bitcoin Shrooms which will be auctioned at Sotheby’s in December. members.delphidigital.io/reports/the-hu… members.delphidigital.io/reports/the-ye… dune.com/hashed_officia… x.com/musalbas/statu… x.com/santiagoroel/s… x.com/j_eth_id/statu… x.com/hmalviya9/stat… x.com/ercwl/status/1… fair-20.gitbook.io/standard/

Formalising Decentralised Exchanges in Coq Authors: Eske Hoy Nielsen, Danil Annenkov, Bas Spitters Abstract: The number of attacks and accidents leading to significant losses of crypto-assets is growing. According to Chainalysis, in 2021, approx. $14 billion has been lost due to various incidents, and this number is dominated by Decentralized Finance (DeFi) applications. In order to address these issues, one can use a collection of tools ranging from auditing to formal methods. We use formal verification and provide the first formalisation of a DeFi contract in a foundational proof assistant capturing contract interactions. We focus on Dexter2, a decentralized, non-custodial exchange for the Tezos network similar to Uniswap on Ethereum. The Dexter implementation consists of several smart contracts. This poses unique challenges for formalisation due to the complex contract interactions. Our formalisation includes proofs of functional correctness with respect to an informal specification for the contracts involved in Dexter's implementation. Moreover, our formalisation is the first to feature proofs of safety properties of the interacting smart contracts of a decentralized exchange. We have extracted our contract from Coq into CameLIGO code, so it can be deployed on the Tezos blockchain. Uniswap and Dexter are paradigmatic for a collection of similar contracts. Our methodology thus allows us to implement and verify DeFi applications featuring similar interaction patterns. arxiv.org/search/cs?sear…

“Duration,” said Patrick Collison of co-founder of digital-payments company Stripe and a frequent visitor at Munger’s gatherings. “Duration enables compounding. If we’re to be successful into the future, we will have to get really deft at thinking and investing on long-term horizons.” His reply was immediate and full of epistemic humility: “I tried to be useful.”
