They didn’t even have a choice to not participate, war be damned. And what they did probably saved the planet from war. 🤷‍♀️

I've only seen it once and i remember 3 distinct times it was mentioned.

My DISCLOSURE DAY hot take: I think Spielberg directs his stuff with a certain emotional vulnerability that is uncomfortable for certain audiences, which is why people got so riled up over this and wigged out over FABELMANS a few years ago. Nothing here is worth that! Good solid alien movie! It rocks!

@dumdunacct @asifitisso1 @rocco_botte Thats the thing. While Arrival is about first contact, tried to be novel in its depiction of aliens, Disclosure Day is a whistle blower-cat and mouse chase, that takes from the reports of real alleged abductees and existing UFO lore.

@asifitisso1 @rocco_botte The reality though, is that Spielberg actually does research on thousands of abductees. Abductees do report seeing aliens masquerading as fake animals and interacting with psionic devices. Arrival, as great as it is, is still nothing but pure fiction at best.
