@Kitenshi278 if the universe the characters and films take place in is rooted in a realistic/grounded tone, it should follow the rules of said tone. plus, one of the most fascinating things about kaiju are their scale, why wouldnt you want to portray that properly?

if you think kaiju films don't need to follow realistic principles because "kaiju aren't real in the first place" then you need to stop talking forever

yeah idc i'm finally giving it the 10. it's crazy to me that Honda wasn't very proud of this film because i think he had SO much to be proud of here. i really do think this movie is genius in so many ways and in some ways even the pinnacle of 60's kaiju. i really love this film
