US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent just dropped a very pro-crypto message during Senate budget hearings for 2027.
Key highlights:
Crypto and digital assets open new doors for economic growth, capital formation, value storage, and instant payments.
The US must lead not just in technology, but in building the future of global payments.
To protect the dollar’s reserve status, America has to become the undisputed global leader in digital assets.
The GENIUS Act (stablecoin regulation) is already moving forward — Treasury has launched public comment periods, submitted reports to Congress, and requested extra funding: $1.8M + 6 staff for Treasury + $3M + 10 staff for FinCEN.
Bessent urged Congress to pass broader digital asset legislation quickly and properly fund the CFTC.
Why it matters: Strong US regulation keeps innovation on American rails, strengthens dollar dominance, and pulls the market out of gray zones with proper AML/KYC oversight.
On questions about big foreign investments (like the UAE sheikh’s $500M in World Liberty Financial and $2B in Binance), Bessent said he sees no connection to the administration and isn’t familiar with the details.
This is the clearest signal yet: the US government is positioning itself to lead the next era of digital finance.
Bullish for regulated crypto? Absolutely.

Was Satoshi Nakamoto actually two people working together?
The new documentary “Finding Satoshi” (released April 22) drops a bold theory after four years of investigation:
Bitcoin was created by a duo
Hal Finney (died 2014) and Len Sassaman (died 2011).
Breakdown:
Hal Finney → code, technical backbone, and the first person to receive a Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi.
Len Sassaman → whitepaper, emails, communication, and the cypherpunk privacy vision.
This perfectly explains the old contradictions:
When Satoshi was emailing developers… Finney was running a marathon in Santa Barbara.
Satoshi vanished in 2011 - right before Sassaman’s death.
Their combined digital footprints, coding styles, and deep roots in the cypherpunk movement (PGP, anonymity tech, digital cash) match better than any single candidate.
Both men are gone - which could explain why the massive Satoshi wallets remain untouched.
