There was heavier Psychedelic Rock in the 60's than AC/DC like Amon Duul II which is like proto-Doom Metal but the overall structure is different. I think you are just comparing Oasis to AC/DC which is considered Hard Rock, but Pop Rock, Rockabilly, Surf, etc. existed before Hard Rock.
