@Stevemanics @AwkwardAidan216 @TroyRubert @cgoliver @FatherlyHQ @oasis It's a generic term for that style of Rock in the 70's/80's. There was heavier Psychedelic Rock in the 60's than AC/DC like Amon Duul II which is like proto-Doom Metal but the overall structure is different. Naturally genre terms are kinda meh anyways.

@KitschIsland @AwkwardAidan216 @TroyRubert @cgoliver @FatherlyHQ @oasis Honestly, I wouldn't even consider AC/DC "hard rock", although I'm aware that's one of the categories people class them as.

For American fans of the band @oasis, the year 1997 was the moment when the Gallagher brothers should have been bigger than ever. fatherly.com/entertainment/…

@Sam_America_ @FatherlyHQ @oasis Loveless from My Bloody Valentine in 1991 was closer to a "perfect album" than anything Oasis ever got close to doing.

@Stevemanics @AwkwardAidan216 @TroyRubert @cgoliver @FatherlyHQ @oasis Pop Rock is an old term, lol. Yes, some of their songs have a more distorted bluesy guitar style. Indie is short for Indie Rock. I think you are just comparing Oasis to AC/DC which is considered Hard Rock, but Pop Rock, Rockabilly, Surf, etc. existed before Hard Rock.

@AwkwardAidan216 @TroyRubert @cgoliver @FatherlyHQ @oasis I also own them. And they're still not rock. Rock 'n' roll at a push, but they were known as Britpop at the time.
