STEM Club with P6 & P7, Miss Massie and Miss Heaney decided to build different perspectives of the Twin Towers. We used lots of different materials to create each scene and learned how to use a Stanley knife safely. But most importantly, we all made some new friends!Well done!!!
P4 - STEM in installation-children were building their own oil rigs using knex and drawing the plan, maths around the World-children were doing lots of problem solving tasks in pairs, STEM through ages- children were building aqueducts using tubes,it was really fun!
P6/7 tried to make the tallest freestanding tower, using only 7 sheets of newspaper and few sellotapes. They did really work and our tallest one was 190cm. Well done everyone, what a great teamwork!!!
P3 and P5 had a visit from the Police thanks to Leighton and Niamh's Mum. The children got to try out the handcuffs and activate the siren in the police car!
On Tuesday, P6 attended TechFest. We enjoyed learning about tropical rainforest and the effects the destruction has on local tribes and habitats. We learned new tech skills using ipads and gaming and we enjoyed making star shades for future space and extraterrestrial exploration.
