This afternoon, Hon. Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya joined the County Assembly Committee on Selection which is holding its sittings in Nairobi to nominate members to serve in various Assembly committees in accordance with County Assembly Standing Order 152(2)
This morning, the County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya has administered oath of office to Hon. Baraka Waziri Bakari and Hon. Rose Kasyoka Kathoka. Hon. Bakari and Hon. Kasyoka were nominated by the Wiper Party to represent marginalized group in the County Assembly.
INDUCTION EXERCISE FOR MEMBERS OF THE THIRD ASSEMBLY KICKS OFF
The Speaker of the County Assembly Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya has this morning opened the induction exercise for Members of the Third County Assembly in Mombasa.
CHANGE OF GUARD AT THE HELM OF THE COUNTY ASSEMBLY.
Hon. Kelvin Kinengo Katisya has been elected as the Speaker of the Third County Assembly of Kitui. Hon. Speaker Kinengo garnered fifty-one (51) votes against Hon. George Mutua Ndotto who garnered six (6) votes.
Members of the County Assembly take Oath of Office
Members of the Third County Assembly have this morning taken oath of office in an event presided over by the Clerk of the Assembly Mr. Elijah Mutambuki in accordance with the County Assembly of Kitui Standing orders.
The former Archbishop was stern in publicly condemning ills within society. We shall greatly miss his illustrious service to the church and humanity in general. May his soul rest in perpetual peace.
The late Archbishop once served as the Bishop of Machakos Diocese, which in 1969 included the Kitui Diocese. He made a lot of difference in our lives. The best tribute to pay him is to follow what he preached about fairness and justice in society.
The Speaker of the Assembly joined the Catholic fraternity, close friends, family members and relatives in mourning the passing on of His Grace Archbishop Emeritus Ndingi Mwana a'Nzeki. The former prelate was a great religious leader and an exceptionally devoted servant of God.
Pursuant to provisions of Standing Order No. 25(3), the Assembly has adjourned its sittings with effect from today, Wednesday, 25th March, 2020. Members are consequently proceeding on sine die recess.
The Assembly passed a motion on adoption of the Report by the Committee on Budget and Appropriations on the Supplementary Budget Estimates allocating an approximate Ksh 100M to the County Health Ministry
The County Assembly has resolved to hold an additional sitting today at 12:30pm to allow members time to prosecute the Report on the Kitui County Supplementary Budget Estimates (I) 2019/2020 and the County Fiscal Strategy Paper 2020/2021
The Motion on Unfair Labour Practices in the Kitui County Public Service moved by the Leader of Majority was approved by the House on Tuesday 20th March, 2018.
The Motion on the Derogatory Song Targeting the Kamba Community moved by the Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Colleta Kimanzi was unanimously approved by the Assembly during the 2:30pm sitting on Tuesday, 7th March 2018.
