5/n 1. HPV Vaccination of 90% of girls by age 15 yr 2. Screen 70% of women using a high-performance test by the age 35 yrs & again by age 45 yrs 3. Treat 90% of women with precancer and 90% of women with invasive cancer managed. Each country should meet these targets by 2030.

4/n Prevention of cervical cancer includes; 1. Avoiding above risk factors 2. HPV vaccination 3. Early and regular screening 4. Early diagnosis of pre cancerous lesions and their management. To eliminate cervical cancer, the IARC recommends 3 key pillars and targets;

1/n January is cervical cancer awareness month. The cervix is the opening into the uterus. Over 99% of cervical cancers have been shown to be caused by high risk human papilloma viruses (HPV) meaning that cervical cancer is a sexually transmitted disease.
