Can't stop thinking about how, for a brief moment, James Cameron actually gave us feliz Na'vi dads.

@TheCinesthetic It understood John McClane, and I loved the dynamic of him being an analog man in a digital world

There’s a big sequence near the middle of HOKUM where it’s just Adam Scott attempting to get out of a situation he’s in, and it’s got to be one of the most tense, nail-biting sequences you’ll see all year. While it may be a bit vague in its folklore, it excels in camerawork, lighting, and maintaining that dread at an unbearable level #SXSW

Most action scripts escalate their set pieces, making each one bigger than the last. Gladiator does the opposite. Each set piece is smaller than the last, becoming more and more personal.

All hail Zazie Beetz. THEY WILL KILL YOU is (literally) fun as hell. Plays with the satanic cult premise with just the right amount of silliness and stylistic violence. The setup may be familiar, but once it takes off, there are plenty of absurd reveals and turns that will surprise you. You will laugh and scream and clap! #SXSW

My ideal director to adapt DUNE books 4-6 would be Guillermo del Toro. If there’s any living director that could successfully pull off a tragic giant humanoid worm god tyrant in live-action, it’s my cinema tío GDT

@Klee_FilmReview I don’t understand why people think CGI is a “boring choice.” Creating something photorealistic from scratch is just fascinating to me.

@Klee_FilmReview Yup, dude uses absolute cutting edge tech to make these which I believe is a big reason why it took him so long to get the first done then there was a major gap between that and the second.

NEVER AFTER DARK really takes a while to get going, but once a particular reveal is introduced, it escalates its slow burn into a disturbing, intense thriller that combines the supernatural with real-world terror. Terrific lead performance by Moeka Hoshi! #SXSW
