The Cholula-ization of US restaurants is indeed a problem. It's not hot, and has a distinct flavor that doesn't go well on many foods. As industrial sauces go, Tobasco is much better. The only thing worse than Cholula is Texas Pete.

Many restaurants in DC have Cholula instead of Tabasco. A few weeks ago I asked for Tabasco at brunch and the waiter said “only cholula” and I was like “ask your bartender. He’ll have Tabasco for blood Mary’s” and the waiter came back and said “he uses Cholula too” What

I just met a person who can't tell Python from C++. He has never written a single line of code in his life, yet he feels he can build anything he wants. He told me point-blank: "I challenge you to tell me something I can't build using AI." I tried to explain, but I couldn't find the right words. The most fascinating aspect of vibe-coding is how it has convinced so many people to believe they are better and more capable than they really are.

Dearest @WHOOP, my device died in the night destroying a continuous 1716 day data steak. I even went out of my way to buy chargers when traveling to keep the streak alive. Sad day.

Driving home from a show at Opryland at 5:30pm here in Nashville, and saw a meteor, assumedly, burn up in the atmosphere! Southbound on I-24, anyone else see that?!

This article is premised on the idea that AI is run by big tech, and that local tools aren't developed or used. This assumption removes amazing local innovators from the equation - which both maintain ownership of their data and are doing new and interesting things with AI.
ALNAP@ALNAP

A responsible, collaborative, participatory, learning-centered approach to innovation might help us find an answer to the question of if AI can truly help us reach more people with quality humanitarian action. Read Linda Raftree's @MERLTech thoughts: buff.ly/3WZF9Rf

The state of prediction markets is a mess. Looking at @Polymarket - here's what's on offer. Tipping point state: Pennsylvania favored. Pennsylvania outcome: Democratic candidate favored. President: Republican favored. Lack of liquidity, or just not a working model?
