I think it’s pretty well known that for short-read meta/genomic assembly, having paired-end reads with a couple-hundred-base gap in between them is ideal. And it’s intuitive why that would be, but anyone know of a paper or data somewhere if someone needs to justify this?

Not aimed at anyone in particular, but can we stop with the Shakespeareanpuns paper titles? "A tale of two X" is so overused it's not even punny anymore. Instead I suggest using Queen songs. I aspire to write a review on lytic phages that will be names "I want to break free".
