On April 28, 2026, Kneehill County Council passed the 2026 Tax Rate Bylaw, setting the rates required to fund essential services while keeping the overall municipal tax levy unchanged from 2025.

Apr 28: Council gives three readings to pass Bylaw 1932, Trochu Recreation Area Special Tax Levy. This tax is collected & forwarded to the Town of Trochu (per their report) to fund 50% of the costs to operate the Trochu pool facility.
Apr 28: Council authorizes the Reeve and CAO to sign the Village of Carbon – Kneehill County Extension Agreement with the existing terms and conditions, expiring December 31, 2026.
Apr 28: Following the presentation of the audited financial statements and audit findings from MNP, Council approves the 2025 Audited Financial Statements.
Apr 28: Council approves Economic Development and Ag Services & Parks to plan and host a Succession Planning Workshop in Fall 2026, contingent upon securing funding through the Labour Market Partnership (LMP) Grant from the Government of Alberta.
Apr 28: Council accepts Policy 14-17, Non-County Residential Connection to Rural Waterline as presented. This policy was developed to allow residents from other municipalities to access the County's rural water system. Three applications have been approved in the past.
Apr 28: Council rescinds (deletes) Policy 14-11, Future Use Rural Water Service, as no new water systems are currently being constructed in the County.
Apr 28: Council approves the request from the Linden & District Agricultural Society and authorizes Administration to provide one water truck and operator for the June 6, 2026 lawn mower races.
Apr 28: Council approves the purchase of the Guzmanuk Gravel Pit, located in Mountain View County (Plan 2310034, Block 2, Lot 1; approximately 64.75 hectares/160 acres), and authorizes funding of $7, 200,000 from the Roads Reserve for the acquisition and associated permitting.
