@CoffeeBeansDev Just my view and shared in spirit of helping, but I usually avoid these types of games if in Early Access despite interest. I'm very unlikely to replay it a year after my initial experience with it. And likely by the time of the full release, I may have forgotten to look again.

@tpf_darling That's what I was getting at more or less. Many mentions I've seen of this sort of stuff doesn't really acknowledge it though. Some seem to have wildly different approaches, like one team talks about ensuring fit, etc, while another sends cozy games to big horror-only Youtubers

Well, the thing is different PR teams do things differently, that's the hard part. What we do might not be necessarily be what EVERY team does (even if it should be). That said, I think most PR decent teams do follow a set of rules, and then adjust a few factors per the game / pitch. I'll include this in the post!

I'm debating drafting up a post to help explain to creators how and why PR folks choose specific people for key campaigns versus not. It's a pretty intricate process that ironically, doesn't typically focus on 'follower count' the way you might think it would. If I were to make the time, would any creators find this helpful? 🤔 And do any other PR folks want to contribute their 2 cents to this post as well? 👀

@tpf_darling I've spoken to a number of PR people on this, and had very different, sometimes directly clashing responses at times, as well as some that are a little too couched in niciesties, or don't seem to reflect how things actually turn out when looking at approval patterns. 2/2

I will always appreciate VeXpo being near Birmingham because it's not in London 🫶 I don't think people understand how frustrating it is when EVERYTHING is in london; concerts, musicals, expos, cons....even unique shops ALWAYS open in london and being honest, no matter where you are in the UK , trains to London are crazy expensive. Not to mention things in London are naturally more expensive. I'm not saying it's not expensive out of London, but I've personally never seen prices as high as London's.

I've seen some concern and/or disappointment about VeXpo being in Birmingham recently and I wanted to clarify to those that aren't aware that it actually isn't in Birmingham itself, that's just the closest notable city and it's actually geographically closer to Coventry. We picked the NEC as it's probably the best linked place in the UK with hotels, restaurants, a train station, and an airport all connected in one campus and in walking distance of the exhibition halls. It's also significantly cheaper than hosting in London, which is passed on in the ticket costs. You can have a great experience at VeXpo without ever having to take a train to Birmingham city and there's a lot of really interesting things to do and places to visit just in the local area which we'll be looking to highlight in a future website update, please stay tuned for it! Hope that clears things up and alleviates any worries, we can't wait to see everyone this September! Thankyou~
