Looks like he did look up the Irish Troubles. See footnote 10. No reference to any history showing Cole acquiring the prerequisite knowledge to build a device, which he allegedly learned how to do by watching science videos. Part of intelligence is being able to construct new ideas from background knowledge. Being able to do this simply by watching science videos suggests high intelligence which is not what we are hearing from those around him.

@SteveBakerUSA @jarbot15 I believe Steve, Joe and Armitas have provided enough evidence that Cole isn’t the guy and it’s most likely the capital police officer. The most damning video evidence is the 2 USCP’s walking directly to the place of bomb #2. How do you explain that evidence away?

Prosecutors will do anything to keep this case from going to trial. Few in DC are buying the legitimacy of this arrest, and there’s no way a DC jury finds Cole guilty. Keeping him in confinement is designed to torture this poor soul into taking a plea deal.
