Persistent inequalities in baby deaths remained in 2023, with rates increasing for babies born in the most deprived areas for the third year running. Ethnic disparities also continued with Black and Asian babies more likely to die than White babies. @TIMMSleicester

Stillbirth rates decreased but neonatal mortality rates increased for the very smallest babies. Babies born at 22 and 23 weeks made up 25% of all neonatal deaths in 2023. @TIMMSleicester

Rates of baby deaths continued to decrease in 2023, mostly due to a reduction in stillbirths. Compared with 2022, stillbirth rates were lower in every nation of the UK and fewer newborns died in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. @TIMMSleicester

We're asking for parents who've had a PMRT review or MNSI investigation at any time after January 1st 2019 to use your voice to change care. We have developed a survey to capture parents' views and experiences of these processes. The survey is here - qualtrics.manchester.ac.uk/jfe/form/SV_2o…

It makes sense. Our birth options clinic was run by our superb birth centre matron, but it didn’t make sense to have midwifery without obstetrics, so we teamed up at the end of 2024 and the feedback from attendees has been really good. @ImperialPeople

Yesterday @ciarancrowe and I joined forces to start a new clinic ‘birth choices’ @EKMaternity. Cons obstetrician & Cons midwife working together with service users supporting choice around how they want to birth. Inter professional working at its best! @CudjoeMC @SarahHa88622902
