At last, the @rcgp is doing some education about Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I look forward to never again hearing about a woman forced to end her wanted pregnancy because her GP refuses to prescribe antiemetics due to misguided fears and ignorance of the risks of untreated HG

@Michaeltikus @elle_carnitine That's quite a stretch. It's far more likely that, as most virologists and infectious disease doctors are screaming from the rafters, one antiviral isn't enough and it needs a much longer course.

Wild argument that the PAX-LC trial may have yielded negative results because, as a result of close collaboration with sick people, they provided such a supportive environment to study participants that the placebo effect was massive and drowned out intervention response.

@scott_scientist @Housoup ME/CFS isn't even one disease, it's an umbrella term for lots of different pathogen-induced conditions. Long Covid is another type of IACCI and it makes zero sense not to try and understand where it's the same and where it differs from previous ones.

@Housoup 40% of funding went to administrative expenses. The other 60% went to demographic studies/repeating work we already did for MECFS because researchers couldn’t accept they were the same disease. They would rather waste all of the money proving that, rather than finding treatments.

French researchers analyzed blood samples from 100 Long COVID patients, 60 recovered COVID cases, and 60 uninfected controls. They identified immune and metabolic biomarkers that diagnosed Long COVID with 99% accuracy. croiconference.org/abstract/2706-…
