I know you don't have an IQ greater than 65, so I'll keep it simple for you. The Crusades were not about simply retaking Jerusalem - that's a 1900's/2000's over simplification. It was about pushing the muslims out of Christian Europe and retaking the Holy Land which included large swathes of the Levant. To keep it simple for you though, the crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem lasted for 192 years from 1099 - 1291 when eventually the capital of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, which was Acre, not Jerusalem, fell. There were more crusader states than the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Yes, the hordes of islamic barbarians eventually overwhelmed the much smaller force of the crusaders, who had to devise a logistics chain and complex diplomatic ties between different countries. The muslims had every advantage - numbers, local logistics, and hundreds of years to setup influence and they still lost all of their holdings in Europe and lost control of the Levant for years to decades at a time depending on region.
