It’s too late to appoint Southgate as manager now. Too much goodwill has been lost with the fans; too much of the squad has been changed; they’re simply too far down the financial rabbit hole. Appoint him DOF to address the culture and get a flexible tactician to work with him.

Just remembered that Man Utd would have to pay Ruben Amorim £12m if they sack him within the first year of his contract. Amorim joined United on November 10 last year, so it's unlikely the board would sack him before same date this year, no matter how bad the results get just to avoid paying the £12m compensation fee. So we're in a situation where Amorim has to turn things around, or United fans might have to endure another almost 2 months of pain. Sigh.

Asides the "we need to give a manager time" generic response, can someone please give me just one CONCRETE reason why Amorim is still the man to take Man Utd back to the top? I like the man, but asking because I'm genuinely losing faith in his coaching methods.
