@KocanovaBa @CatoMinor3 @aristofontes The slip-taker shouldn't have omitted 'serto vimineo' (with a wicker garland), which gives a top/bottom contrast that may explain the choice of a 'sub-' word. But yes, poetry is a terrible source for lexicography – deviant usage is standard practice! – and this may well be a pun.
