An interesting goose paired to a Tundra Bean. The all pale peachy-pink bill, white halter and small dark spots on the upper belly perhaps point to it being a Tundra Bean X Russian Whitefront hybrid rather than an aberrant Tundra Bean. With Ash McElwee and @Arcticprince

@9stan Allright, thanks Martin! Should be just a YBW then, but quite a tough nut to crack.

@KoenStork I don’t think so -my experience with Humes and YB is very limited but some of the Spurn regulars seemed happy with YB.

What a cracking day at Kilnsea (East Yorkshire) on friday. Pallas's and Yellow-Browed wablers along with a Firecrest (at one point they were all in the same bush!) Spurn magic! More photos on the blog martin-standley.squarespace.com/blog

@9stan Thanks Martin! Any recordings available? Hume's does have a short call which can be almost identical to YBW.

@KoenStork That is a very good question and it was suggested by a few people on site. It was heard to call which clinched the id and those present agreed it was a ‘dull’ yellow-browed.

@ironfists67 Willow Warbler it is. Note the contrasting supercilium, saturated yellow colour, light underparts and long primary projection.

Lands End, Cornwall. 22/03/25. Warbler flew in and landed close by. Having seen dozens of Chiffchaffs all winter, I'm convinced this is a Willow Warbler. I would appreciate opinions. Thanks.

@KoenStork Hello, we saw it on Wednesday 29 January 2025, we had just left the visitor and information centre at polder Waal en Burg and driven to the observation points on de Staart. It was an adult bird with white tail. The photograph was taken by my friend, Paul Cave @PaulCave3

Mission accomplished! A quick BOC edit, the edited version should be slightly less crap! Very relieved after a stressful journey yesterday! Hopefully the fog will clear a bit later for better pics #WPMONSTER!

@RIAllison62 There's little out of the ordinary. For UK birders Short-toed Treecreeper and Caspian Gull may be nice to see? There's also a Baikal Teal near Alkmaar and a Pygmy Cormorant near Lelystad that should be doable on the same day if you don't stay for too long with the Eider.

@KoenStork Hi Koen - yes, a car load of 4 of us are coming over on the 23.00 ferry from Harwich on Friday night! Hope the bird stays! Any other birds to look for on Texel at the moment? Thanks Richard Allison

Went back this morning for better views of the SPECTACLED EIDER. What. A. Bird. ~600 twitchers managed to connect, with the first foreigners from Germany and Belgium joining in. Probably a 3cy male, based on grey (not white) tertials.

F*ckin Spectacled Eider on Texel!! Stressful drive from Groningen, but managed to tick it in the last light. #351 (CSNA) or #341 (IOC) for my Texel list, but definitely the most memorable one yet!

@DirkStraalen Inderdaad!

Very relaxed twitch of the 1st Pacific Diver for The Netherlands this morning! Particularly interesting how the birds' appearance changed with behaviour and distance (see the differences between both clips attached).
