I think I'd have enjoyed more this run If I was a Spider-Man fan, this comic are pratically made for them
I really like how Remender handled him replacing his compulsion/addiction (to alcohol) with another compulsion/addiction (the power the symbiote gives)

I should reread Remender Venom one day. It's straight up the best Venom run in terms of how it utilizes the characters from the mythos and expands upon them. The way it deals with Flash's addiction to the symbiote, Anti-Venom Eddie, Jack in general. Truly great stuff

@Its_Tamim @Akuji_Forsaken Depends on how much you're bothered by the context of certain things. If you know basic spider-man stuff regarding flash + venom and that he went to the Iraq war you're good to go.

At first I thought making GR two different characters led to things being more impersonal but it's quite the opposite.
Zarathos IS deeply connected with Johnny because he embodies what Blaze doesn't want to be: an ignorant who solves injustice the same way it's given to him

I like how immediately once DeMatteis writes Ghost Rider he makes THE best issue on the character lmao.
Such a powerful way to showcase Blaze's conundrum. The way he's cursed by the world to enact on this vengeful power fantasy and go against what his heart tells him to be (+)

@ermthatssilly What Zarathos said in #43 makes more sense know. Throughout the run it seems like he was gaining more and more control over GR and when they got divided he admitted that Johnny's heart held him back

@KombatKnight Greatly depends tbh. If you’re doing a full read through I won’t spoil but this gets greatly fleshed out and makes much more sense later

It's pretty weird how the Ghost Rider transformation works. The writing makes it seem as if he's not exactly Johnny Blaze but they both act very similar and retain the same memories.
I hope this is fleshed out later because all I can gather is that Rider's more reactive

To this day I I'm still pissed off this spider-man was killed off during the first spiderverse event, this whole page sums up my whole problem with those books, you take a cool and fun concept of a spider-man and you turn him into vampire canon fodder
