My cousin in AAU Ekpoma is doing his final year week after 10 years of being in the University.

When I lived in Lagos, I noticed my mates would call me "oju igo"
It was later i discovered they were referring to my glasses.
I developed short sightedness at age 6, by age 7 it had degenerated that I couldn't see anything written on the chalk board.
My form/ math tutor, in primary 4, recognised this, and gave me a hand written note to my parents.
Next day, my father took me to a place called Trade Fair. There, I met a man who put two lens on an old, ancient eyeglasses frame.
He had a chart, with big letters whose size decreased as you read further downwards.
He would remove one lens from each eye, put another and asked if I was seeing well.
Eventually, he told my father I had short-sightedness.
That same day, my father took me to a place called Broadstreet in Lagos.
I saw different people who made eyeglasses as a business.
They made a pair for me. It came with a rope.
And my father got me a purple eyeglass case shaped like a pill.
I was only 8 years old.
