I appreciate your support during the problem I had with the IGP, but that doesn’t mean we should not disagree respectfully on issues I think you don’t understand But there are few things you must know about the Banana Island Proposed Ports because it is something I followed through like many other journalists. The land was purchased by Gento Group and the process went through Parliamentary approval for a concession to develop a port. The Concession as approved is 90% owned by Gento Group and 10% by the government of Sierra Leone. The Group has completed its feasibility studies on the commercial viability of the port and they are now looking for financiers like shipping lines, Maritime Banks and port operators based on the fact that Banana Island has a depth of 22mt which will be deepest in the region. You said Govt is unable to raise $1.5B but where did Gento Group got 1.7B, Gento Group is yet to get that money, they are now looking for financiers and I’m sure when one is available they will make it known to the public. Gento Group made it very clear during the public disclosure that they are in the process of securing the approval/ permission from government to build the deepest Seaport on the Atlantic and after which they will go out to raise the funds but they are yet to get funds. @USEmbFreetown @UKinSierraLeone @gento_kamara
