Following eight years of consistent, documented standards of care in the @DeptVetAffairs, everything changed immediately after the transition into the @JoeBiden administration. A new provider was introduced to my care, and with that came intense political retaliation, disability discrimination, medical negligence, falsification of federal documents to other federal agencies (which is a federal crime) and a deliberate refusal to acknowledge my constitutional protected disability status. I reported this early and repeatedly from 2021 until 2025 and ongoing. Instead of stopping the abuse, the VA staff at multiple levels of redress allowed it to escalate unchecked for four+ years; including retaliation for reporting, deliberate delays in required federal paperwork, falsification of federal medical documentation, and continued harm to me and my family while complaints were actively pending, causing intentional disruptions in monthly pay that created severe financial hardship.
For context, I am a 100% permanently and totally disabled Iraq War veteran (@USArmy ) and a medically retired senior officer of the @TheJusticeDept. I was forcibly removed from my DOJ position following an on-the-job injury that was later determined to stem from severe degenerative disc disease in my lower spine. The Department of Justice found me medically incapable of continued service, and my medical retirement was formally approved by the Office of Personnel Management. I have since been approved for @SocialSecurity Disability due to permanent unemployability, long-term disability through the @USDOL (OWCP), and 100% P&T disability through the VA, including participation in the VA Caregiver Program because frequent spinal flare-ups require daily assistance from my wife. My civilian primary care physician determined I was permanently disabled and unfit for gainful employment on June 29, 2014 — a finding that has been fully documented in my VA medical records for years without dispute.
Despite this overwhelming, long-settled body of evidence litigated and resolved more than twelve years ago, my @VABostonHC provider Dr. Tatiana Scott of the Lowell Outpatient Facility spent four years attempting to re-litigate my disability, refusing to acknowledge my status in writing, intentionally delaying required Department of Labor forms to disrupt my monthly benefits, and ultimately falsifying a federal document sent to the Department of Labor this year to insinuate fraud in a work-related matter resolved over a decade ago; an action that has placed me under an active federal investigation. The VA now claims this conduct is shielded as “clinical opinion.” In addition, well documented calls for mental health decline went completely dismissed and ignored; you wonder why so many veterans are committing suicide.
I did exactly what disabled veterans are told to do. I documented everything. EVERYTHING! I escalated through patient advocacy who advised (in writing) my physician had every right to disregard my medical history, leadership, and director-level offices. I contacted federal oversight bodies only to have my complaints reframed by each, deflected on false claims of “jurisdiction,” and the door slammed in my face. I filed a formal complaint with the VA Office of Inspector General in 2021, which was never answered. I filed another formal OIG complaint in April 2025, which was also ignored. No response. No investigation. No accountability.
Now, under @POTUS administration, despite his clear mandate to protect veterans, @SecVetAffairs and his team, VA Chief of Staff Christopher Syrek and VA Congressional Officer Howard Manuel are enabling a massive systemic cover-up by deflecting the situation to a tax-payer tort claim. Providers are being protected. Leadership is being insulated. Violations of patient rights and federal law continue unchecked. Every internal avenue of redress has been exhausted, leaving only the suggestion of a taxpayer-funded tort claim that offers no accountability, fixes nothing, and does nothing to protect current or future disabled veterans from vicious VA staff who act with total immunity.
- Protect the agency.
- Screw the veteran.
- Waste taxpayer money.
- Allow disabled veterans and their families to be harmed by corrupt and unethical VA staff.
I made every honest effort to keep this out of the public eye and have it handled respectfully, honorably, and ethically within the system. I exercised restraint in good faith at the request of higher authorities within the current administration. That refusal by Secretary Collins and his team to correct this is a direct undermining of President Trump’s mandate and a complete betrayal of the service, sacrifice, and trust veterans gave this country.
President @realDonaldTrump would not accept this. The public would not accept this if they knew. And veterans inside this system will no longer accept it.
There are thousands of stories like mine, all disabled veterans need your help to share this. I am working on bringing to them into the national spotlight with mine.
We demand accountability — for rogue staff, for leadership who personally have chosen not to act (outside of the scope of their duty and training), and for a system that failed disabled veterans at every level.
