And this is just generalized (just waking up, so prob sound harsh on re-reading), but yeah. As you get larger and do more work, you have to be more protective and it SUCKS. You can be the sweetest person in the world, and there will sadly be a lot of people looking to take advantage anymore. Vtubing is sadly looked a bit down upon as a newer industry, so our business options generally suck unless you make them yourself, and that always is a huge investment. Because there isn’t any true “con” to all the bad apples in the spaces, you are basically guaranteed to find some people who will try to take advantage without you knowing using whatever information they have. We see this with certain big names all the time who do shit, ignore it, and their fans just return anyways. We are also currently in a global recession where a lot more scams will and are popping up. In times of global economic issues like these, people are seeking any way to make money and will do things they typically won’t as well (not an excuse, but just something that does happen). We are seeing major agencies, like Holo, releasing contracts. We are going to increasingly see “too good to be true” situations, and the way a lot of these sell are pretty words and charisma.

I thought it was common knowledge: do not fuck where you eat. Like it is Business 101. If you have any management coming towards you, know that they are using that same method for an unknown amount of other people as well. It is a giant red flag as it oversteps so many professional lines, and if you are looking to join agencies, companies, or even just get a manager, any business contact trying to initiate any kind of romantic tie is a massive red flag.
