@HyperbeamTCG While everyone’s chasing flashy sets, AH is quietly sitting in the “accumulation phase.”
If print runs tighten and even once, chase card gains traction, sealed doesn’t stay under $100 for long.
Market always rewards what people ignored first.

Trump says the U.S. will help move stranded ships out of Hormuz, so oil cooled off a little.
But crude is still sitting around $100+ because the market knows one thing:
If Hormuz stays messy, your gas tank becomes the real inflation report.

GameStop trying to buy eBay sounds insane at first, and honestly, it kind of is. You’re talking about a $12B company going after something closer to $46B, which is not normal M&A behavior by any standard and it’s not like GameStop is coming from a position of strength, the core business has been in decline for years as physical game retail fades, and most of the attention it still gets comes from “diamond hand” retail traders and speculative hype cycles around collectibles like Pokémon cards. But even that comes with friction. A growing part of the Pokémon community has been frustrated with how products are being sold at marked up prices or flipped quickly, making it harder for casual buyers specially younger fans to access what’s supposed to be an entry-level hobby. That tension matters, because it shows the current strategy leans more toward extracting value than expanding the customer base and that’s what makes this move even more questionable. This isn’t really about size it’s about what Ryan Cohen is trying to turn GameStop into. He’s not trying to fix a struggling retail chain. He’s trying to rebuild it into a marketplace platform and that’s where eBay actually makes sense. It already has the global user base, the resale ecosystem, and the infrastructure GameStop doesn’t have, especially as they lean into trading cards, collectibles, and secondary markets. The problem is they don’t have the capital to do this cleanly. Any real attempt likely means debt, share dilution, or complex financing structures, which usually ends with shareholders footing the bill. On top of that, eBay’s board has very little incentive to accept a bid from a much smaller company, and if they reject it, this doesn’t just go away. Cohen could go directly to shareholders, which is how friendly deals turn into hostile takeovers, and that’s when things get messy fast. There’s also a bigger structural issue here. In a digital-first world, publishers and manufacturers increasingly sell directly to consumers, which has already eroded GameStop’s original role as a middleman. So trying to leap from that position into owning a massive global marketplace isn’t just ambitious it’s a huge stretch. What the market is reacting to right now isn’t a successful deal getting priced in, it’s the audacity of the attempt. Best case, this is a bold pivot into something scalable. Worst case, it’s an overreach that piles on risk, dilutes shareholders, and doesn’t fix the underlying problem. Right now, the only thing that’s clear is this: GameStop is trying to skip steps in its evolution and the market is watching to see if that’s vision or desperation.

Warren Buffett just posted +18% profit and is sitting on nearly $400B cash.
Not buying.
Not chasing.
Just waiting.
Either he sees something coming…
or nothing is worth the price.
Meanwhile he’s eating steak with your money. 👀

🚨 MARKET LOOKS STRONG… IT’S NOT.
This rally is being held up by like 5 stocks 💀
$AAPL pumping → everyone thinks we’re fine
Reality → most stocks aren’t even moving
That’s how tops form.
• Oil = risk
• Fed = still tight
• Selective rally = warning sign
Smart money already adjusting.
Retail about to learn the hard way again.

Apple just printed $100B… and people are still acting like something’s wrong🤨

@frisko4one5 @PokeHEX5555 Easy fix, vendors will simply raise the price on singles

@PokeHEX5555 Nobody will go to this event if they do that. This is dumb. Let people sell what they want, it’s up to people who buy it or not

Banning buying/selling sealed Retail Pokemon product at a Card Show is wild
x.com/PeakHobby/stat…
Peak Hobby@PeakHobby
UPDATE Based on feedback they received, the card show has implemented even more changes: “ALL buying & selling of retail sealed product will be banned across the board… includes both vendors & attendees” “Banning all gambling-style games (spin the wheel, dice rolls, etc.) as well as mystery packs & boxes.” “Any fan art cards must be clearly labeled to avoid confusion” What do you think these rules for card shows?
