The prosecutor says Fontenot said his tools and keys went missing and he thought James did   The defense waived an opening statement. If convicted of second degree murder Fontenot will be sentenced to mandatory life in prison.

The prosecutor says Fontenot said his tools and keys went missing and he thought James did it. He also claimed James had made threats after someone else punched him.   Fontenot also allegedly tried to burn his clothes, dispose of the gun and hide from deputies.

Erron Fontenot was arrested and charged with second degree murder. His trial is underway.    Earlier in opening statements the prosecutor told jurors they will hear that Fontenot said, “I didn’t give him time to say anything. I just popped him in the F-ing head.”

August 1, 2023 on sherry street in Sulphur 911 received a call from a woman who said she heard a loud pop and then found a man on a front porch gasping for air.     That man was James Barrilleaux who lay dying with a gunshot wound to his forehead.

Henry also testified he told authorities just a couple of weeks ago which storm drain the gun used in the killing was dumped in 2018.  The gun was inoperable due to exposure to the elements, but investigators were able to get it apart.   It contained red painted bullets…

He says he was supposed to get $5000.  Henry testified he stayed in the car while Washington got out and walked to Colston’s car, got inside and allegedly shot and killed Colston.   Henry says he saw a flash of fire in his rear view mirror while Was was in the car with Colston.

Jurors in the 1st degree murder trial of Jermaine Washington heard from a witness today who testified he was paid to help Washington in connection with the killing of Dorian Colston 4th of July weekend in 2018.   Karrington KeKe Henry admits receiving $2000 to drive Washington.

The jury was removed from the courtroom while Carter made his arguments.   Carter says he should have been able to have a hearing before the trial was underway.   Carter says he told prosecutors his client would only talk if granted immunity.

Carter says Jackson was in an eight hour interrogation and that police told him what to say.   Prosecutors say Jackson wanted a hit on Colston because he kept robbing him of money and drugs.

The First Degree murder trial of Jermaine Washington is underway in State District Court in Lake Charles. Washington allegedly was the hit man who killed Dorian Colston and then demanded payment shortly after the shooting. Washington was allegedly hired by Josiah Jackson.

Jackson, was brought into court on a motion to compel testimony.   According to prosecutors nothing Jackson says in the trial can be used against him. Jackson is charged with conspiracy to cause Washington to commit a crime.   Jackson is represented by Judge Wilford Carter

Karrington Henry and Barry Brooks both pleaded guilty to Obstruction of Justice. The plea deal was leniency of sentence if they provide truthful testimony at the trial. Karrington allegedly told investigators where the gun used was dumped into a storm drain.

Jackson allegedly wanted to prevent Colston from robbing him of drugs and money. A deputy who specializes in digital forensic analysis is discussing how phone records, and calls and texts extracted from cell phones document the suspect’s interaction with the victim and others
