@SSC_Costumes I’m hoping that the overflow of AI slop will cause people to think differently. The sameness of all these AI created works is pretty stark. I don’t know the future, but the optimist in me wants to believe that not all hope is lost.

My 2-cents on the current drama over AI. I feel AI generated "furry-Art" will destroy the true furry artists of the fandom, where one time drawing art was based on 100% artistic skill, where many of us old-skool original furry artists created our art works from or minds, our visions, and we all had our own unique, individual style & personality in our past art works. Now it seems the AI Art-generators are destroying that orginality & creativity skill, where anyone can generate a furry art piece using AI, and even using AI to trace over to claim its "original Art" Most All of us in the early years of the famdom created our art from our developed skills, our style, and created original works. - I feel AI will eventually replace all original TRUE artists to worked from scratch, (either it be painting, water-colors, using artist tools like a Wacom tablet with photoshop or Corel Draw, etc. AI is a cheat that a computer creates an image from a command line, then its traced over, or marginally altered to be claimed as real human art. Here is some of my older works from 2 decades ago, where AI never existed, and we drew art with a passion & love for what we created.

@Krahnos *nods* do you see this as a net positive, or not? And will they discipline you for not taking the position?

This week, I must figure out if I have it in me to be upper management. So far, I’m still getting panic attacks at the thought. Dunno if that’s normal. I was promised training and help, but so far that’s been very sparse.

It used to be I’d search Google for a technical issue … and 90% of the results would be useless, but after a while I could find something useful. Now I seem to get mostly AI summaries of the useless stuff and nothing else, which just takes the useless to a whole new level. :)

@JohnCalafin In my case, it’s a different situation. It’s take a bit to explain. We’re in a hiring freeze. I’m the only one with the unique experience needed. It’s just not complete experience.

@Krahnos I got out into that situation at my Best Buy and after 8 months my boss said I wasn’t a good fit and I went back to hourly; it’s not a good feeling. Dont go into it unless you’re comfortable with short and long term consequences, hon.

@JohnCalafin I thought I did that. But so far, it hasn’t materialized. I’ll keep pushing for that. I do feel kind of thrown to the wolves and see if I survive.

@Krahnos Is there a way to make acceptance contingent on training?

@JohnCalafin I’m terrified of having to give up everything else to give this the focus it demands. I don’t have training in project management. But I’m being pushed in that direction. I fear I have no choice.

@Krahnos FWIW, I have immense faith in you. But that’s a lot of stress, maybe you missing the orchestra music and other hobbies. More money, but possibly more problems. What are Your thoughts?

After using Autodesk Maya for more than a decade, learning Blender is like learning a totally different language. I need a "Blender for Dummy Maya users" training session.
